You cannot get insurance to cover this accident without committing fraud, a felony punishable by jail time. It is never OK to not have auto liability insurance. You can get insurance after the accident date which may help when you go to court for not having insurance.r |

well if it wasn't your fault the other persons insurance company will cover all the damage done to your car. So just get insurance and NEVER leave home without it |

People are always sorry after they get caught out.You would not be asking this question if you had not had the accident. You would have carried on driving until you killed some innocent person Then said can i get some insurance on the quick. You deserve to go to prison. If you apply for insurance ,it starts at the time you apply for it or a later date. |

No. No chance. |

Sure you can get insurance now but it won't be any good for the accident. Insurance is not retroactive. If it were, don't you think everyone would wait until AFTER an accident to buy insurance ? |

Too late insurance is against the possibility of a risk not after it has happened.
Every insurance agent in the land will tell you stories of people who fail or refuse insurance and then try to take a policy out and claim after the event.
Do that and it is fraud |

No. Insurance companies are wise to this trick. You can't obtain insurance for a past event. |

Welll...yeah you can get insurance nowww..but it won't matter because the date is AFTER the accident...so the insurance can't be applied to that particular accident..
better to still get it..for future accidents..so you won't be in this predicament again...
Good Luck. |

No, sorry. If it was the other person fault then you should be ok.
Im not sure where you live but where I live we cant even have a license unless we have proof of liability insurance && even then the insurance notifies the dmv if you cancel your policy. |

You may not have to pay for fixing the other persons car or be fined for the accident if he was at fault but you most likely be fined for not having insurance.
Get your insurance now so you will be protected next time! |

if you were to get insurance today, the application will show the date and time that you signed it. they do this just for the reason you stated, in accident, no insurance and hope you dont get caught.
hopefully you will be found not at fault for this accident. now that this accident happened, i suggest you get coverage asap; the next time, if found at fault, no insurance, they will sue you presonally for damages, injuries etc;
good luck |

Technically, if you are required by law to have insurance, and drive without, then you are at fault just simply by being on the road without the insurance. You must always read the law to understand and abide by the law anything less will leave you in violation of the law. |

No, you cannot get insurance for a an accident that happened when you uninsured.... get real.... you shouldn't even have a license. |

Sure you can get insurance now, however if you try to submit a claim where the date of the accident is the same as the inception date of the policy the insurer is going to investigate the accident with a fine tooth comb. Once they find out you submitted a false claim they will cancel you and possibly request charges be laid. BTW just because you think you're not at fault doesn't mean you're ACTUALLY not at fault. |

You did not mention what state you live in; but, here in the state of Texas, If you are involved in a accident and have not insurance, even if it is not your fault, one: you will receive a ticket, it not at the time the accident report was taken, you will receive it in the mail for no insurance. In Texas it is $325.00, than you will have to pay a surcharge each year for the next three years of $270.00 each time you renew your license. You will only get a license for one year and only after all damages to the other party has been paid. Than you must also get R22 insurance. Which means your insurance rate for the next three years will be double or triple. Of course your drivers license will be revoked until you make arrangements with the other party's insurance company for payment of damages and get a release signed by the other party involved in the accident. Now If you do not do the aforementioned, or your violate the terms of repayment than your license will be revoked immediately and vehicle registrations. This of course means you will not only be unlicensed but no one will be able to drive your vehicles because the registrations will be cancelled. You really messed up driving without insurance and violated the laws because you signed a agreement with the state to maintain financial responsibility when you got your license. I truly hope your state laws are not as rough as Texas; but, than again, they could be worst. Shame on you. God help you because the law sure won't.. Good luck. |

Might want to check your local state laws. In Texas even if it's not your fault you're still at fault. If you obeyed the law the car and you shouldn't have been on the road thus the accident never would've happened.
Lesson learned. |

Well not unless you have a really good friend who works for the insurace company and will post date it for you and risk their job. I think you are in some big trouble, unless somehow they don't check on you because it was the other drivers fault. Maybe if the other driver does not make a claim, but why were you driving without insurance, that is a dangerous game to play. |
