I got my license suspended when I was 16. Now Im 18 with a car and need insurance before I take my test and whatnot. Is that possible and how do i do it?

If your license is still suspended, then no it will not be possible to purchase insurance. Once the license is reinstated then you can obtain insurance, however you might want to be sitting down when you find out how much it's going to cost. |

Yes, it's possible, but it will be expensive. Look in the Yellow Pages for agents who offer non-standard coverage (hgh risk) and call around for the best price. Depending on what the suspension was for, you may need an SR-22 or SR-50 filing; either one costs nothing extra, but the insurance will be tough. Once you get the policy and ID card, you can start the license and registration process, but you'll need to contact your DMV for the exact process. |
