I almost got runned over?! Was it my fault?

I was coming off the bus with my older sister and her friend. The bus stops at the corner of my street so I have to cross in front of the bus and the street. The bus driver puts the stop sign so I look to my right to see if any cars are coming,I was about to pass the front of the bus when this car comes out the nowhere from the left which is the opposite lane. He wasn't even suppose to be on that lane!!! He was speeding and almost hit me by 2 feet. Was it my fault or his fault? I do look both ways but the bus is blocking the left side so I can't see until I pass the front of the bus.

Also I live in Miami,Fl (USA)

Technically it is his fault for not stopping if the sign is up,

but it's always good to pause and look around the edge of the bus before proceeding.

technically its his fault. because he's not on the right lane. but he didn't see you and you didn't see him to because the bus is blocking your view.

If the bus was blocking your way, then why didnt you wait until the bus went on.!
Since the bus was there, then the car did not see you cause you were behind the bus.
Plus, even the bus put the stop sign not any drivers care, unless they are good not like teens.
So I suggest next time you wait until no cars are there!
and dont be in a hurry or else one day you will get hit!
Take car out there, some drivers are dumber then you think.

Thank god you are okay. Be careful hon. :)
Plus its okay dont argue about it, as long as your safe!
just next time let the bus go easy as that. okiee

hello
its his and you should report him to the police. its illegal to pass a stopped school bus

If it was a school bus that you were getting off of, then it is totally, completely the driver's fault. If a school bus is letting students off, or picking students up, it is against the law for anyone to pass the bus while the lights are flashing and the stop sign is out. The driver of the car could have faced serious fines if caught, and it would have been a felony if he had hit you.

not in the US. I know here in Massachusetts its illegal to drive past a bus in any direction while the stop sign/lights are on. So even if you weren't crossing the street, that guy driving past the bus should be prosecuted for being ignorant.
