Yes, their insurance will go up quite a bit. That is because the insurance company will consider you a much bigger risk than your parents - new driver, young, not much experience, etc. |

yup, sure will. |

most definately! And if you get tickets or even stopped that will affect their insurance rates as well so take it easy on them. |

Yes. First of all b/c they will need to add an extra person on their policy. But the fact you are a teen, means it will be even more. And if you are a guy and a teen, it will be even MORE! |

Yes, when a dependent gets a driver's license, by law they must be added to the parents' insurance. Insurance for a 16 year old raises your premiums just about double. We've been thru this 3 times since our kids are now 27, 24, and 21. The 21 year old is still on our insurance since she lives at home and drives one of our cars while working and going to school. Some insurance companies give discounts at each young driver's birthday if they have a clean driving record. Our insurance, Farmer's Insurance, also gave "good student" discounts. Rates were lower if we brought in a report card that showed a B average or better. Even if you don't officially put your teenager on your insurance, a lot of companies use an agency that monitors who you claim as dependents and eventually they will catch up with you anyway. |

Maybe some, but it will eventually go down, if you never get into a car accident. An accident would really take it up. But don't let the insurance rate discourage you. Go ahead and get your licence- if you've already learned to drive. It took me along time to get mine. I was grateful when I finally got it! |

Yes it will! It will all depend on what kind of car u are planning on driving. There are many factors to how much your insurance is going to be. DO NOT get in any accidents or u will cost your mom and dad a bundle for you to drive. |

suuuure will. youre a huge liability. Teenagers are the leading accident victims, while old people are the leading cause.
You can help them by taking drivers education courses, the certificate can be provided to their insurance company and it will give them a small discount. It would also be nice if you got a part time job to pay for gas and the insurance hike.
No one likes a free loader. Always drive slow. always always, you have to drive over 100 miles an hour just to make up one minute on a 15 mile drive. its not worth is. I drive for a living and i dont know how many times i have almost killed or been killed by retarded teenage drivers.
GAH. |

Yes. If you get good grades in school, however, their insurance payments will go down. |

only if you drive their car or get a car of your own that's on their insurance. If you plan never to drive any of their cars ever, than no, it will not make their insurance go up, but if you do plan to drive when you get your DRIVERS license, than it will totally make their insurance prices go up! |

Yes, it will. That's why you will get a lot of questions when you go and drive. They have the right to know and it is common sense to do so. |

Yep, but it depends as well...
Sometimes you can get insurance for teen drivers which is lowered if you take drivers ed in highschool...
Mine was -yays- but that was years ago lol |

YES but are you willing to pay for your own? if so you can ask the insurance company if they can do a spinn off of your parents policy than you might save them money and you a little as well. Show that you care. |

Yeah, It will make it go up considerably, you might want to get a job and offer to pay your part of the insurance bill. You'll score responsibility points with mom and dad, and if your lucky you might get some spending money for when you go out with friends. |
