I am looking into switching my auto insurance to another company, Geico seems to have...?

THE BEST RATES! Im really struggling with this decision. I have been with Tn Farm Bureau for ten years, but we recently have added an 06 F150 and the rates jumped, which I expected. Just for fun, I got online and have compared (over the phone today also) Progressive and Geico. Geico has the best rate and all seem to be the exact same policy...HMMMM Heres the rundown

Ford F150 and Passat CC

Geico: 651 every six months

Progressive: 842 every six

Farm Bureau: 1073 every six months

All the policies have 100,000 per person and 300,00 for insured motorist

progressive includes 250k for uninsured, and Ill have to check and see what the other two have...

Im not sure Ive compared them fully, what do i need to compare besided this...ANYTHING?
Additional Details
The deductibles are 50 dollars for the farm bureau for both collision and comp...the progressive is 50 com and 100 collision...the geico is 50 50 like the farm bureau...I told them that was what we had so they put that in....

I agree with MG425. Try State Farm. State Farm is a great company that has wonderful claims handling service and they have high standards for a vehicle to be repaired after an accident, compared to GEICO where they use non OEM parts and can lower the value of your vehicle and the quality of repair work. State Farm has been around for SO LONG and they are still strong during this recession. You don't see them trying to borrow money from the government.

Progressive is a good company for high risk drivers that either, have had DUI's in the past few years, or have a bad driving record. But if you have a clean driving record, progressive cannot touch other companies rates. You don't see them trying to borrow money from the government either.

I don't really have any positive experience with Geico. I used to have them and I decided to leave them because they could never explain anything about my policy to me... then when I tried to cancel they tried everything to get me to stay. It was too late.

For me insurance is not just the price you pay (although price is EXTREMELY important) it is also being able to go into and office and talk to someone face to face (since I couldnt do this with geico I realized how important it is for me to have a local agent), and having a company who is know for good customer service and good claims handling service.

Good Luck

The deductible if its for full coverage. Most insurance companies do credit reports to determine what they charge , which really shouldn't apply to car insurance, but they do it. Try State Farm. I checked all the companies in my phone book, and they have by far the best rates, and the coverage is way better too. And that's with insuring an 18 yr. old! Having such a high uninsured is a little unnecessary, unless you feel you have alot to lose if you dont. 100-300-100 seems ok to me.

There is no such thing as a free lunch. They are finding a way to cut costs. More often then not when business cut costs then we as consumers get a cheaper product. Sometimes we don't mind but if services or reliability are cut then we are screwed.

I witnessed a Geico repair shop and would never use that company based on what they forced on their customers. Non OEM parts were all they put on. So if you never get in an accident then they may be for you. I put a lot of money into my cars and would never have them repaired with used or inferior parts so I went shopping I choose another company.

You really should compare more then just the big name companies. Try a local independent agent as they can run your insurance with many different companies and you'll often find they offer lower premiums then the "big name" companies.

I can only go by my experience, I have had Geico for over 11 years, their customer service is wonderful and I have not been able to beat their rate yet. So I would say go for it based on my totally positive experience with them for all these years. I have three vehicles insured with them and used to have a motorcycle insured with them as well.
