ROAD tax is needed for vehicles used on the road. I would guess you're not going to let him pop down to the shops on it, so.... No
Insurance is needed for vehicles used on the road. It would be a good idea to have some sort of limited liability insurance, but it is not necessary for off-road use |

Yes, but even with tax and insurance he won't be able to ride it legally until he is 16 and passed a CBT bike test. |

Only if it is used on Public roads will it need tax and insurance. Then he would also need a licence, but he is too young to have one. |

Dont be so irresponsible - a grown adult could easily kill themselves on one of those things, let alone a 6 year old!!

No. But you will only be able to ride it off road or on private roads. Make sure it has all the guards where they should be because they are very dangerous without the gards in the correct place. |

If it's kept and used off road it's no problem. I would recommend getting a good liability insurance just in case. |

Your son cannot ride his quad on a public road, footpath or pavement, as it is illegal for him to do so.. He can only ride it on private land.
Therefore, he does not need tax or insurance. |
