smog yet . The car is in there name . They brought it from a towing company which was a lien sale. they gave me the paper from dmv showing they paid the fees and stuff so the registration is good intill may 2009. they gave me all the lien sales papers and the bill of sale. Can I Register the car with out having the title. Im in CA

It's always a mess when you deal with cars bought from towing companies. I'd go to DMV with all the paperwork you have and ask them. Yes, you'll have to stand in line for an hour, but it's better to do it and get the correct answer, than to get the wrong answer here.
