YOU GAVE THEM THE KEYS.
Unless you filed a police report, probably not. |

I believe that you must wait a full week before the car can be considered stolen. Report to your insurance carier now and follow thier advice. When you give permission for somebody to drive your car-be sure that your insurance policy allows for this, otherwise you become solely responsible for thier driving your car actions for the next 178 hours. Out of state law enforcement impound fees are your obligation to pay. |

Hell no they won't I would go with answer 1 and call the cops and report the car stolen so if it gets used to do a robbery or something illegal you won't be held responsible. Good Luck |

If you gave someone your keys, they didn't steal the car. You gave them permission to take it. Since they are driving with permission, your insurance is covering them. What is it you think your insurance will cover? Theft? There is no theft, you gave them the keys. Go ask for the keys, and the car back. End of problem. If they won't give it back, call the police and report "unauthorized use of a motor vehicle." which means you gave them the keys but they kept it longer than they were supposed to. |

I don't think so, you have to say it was stolen, but you need a good story or you’ll be trapped! |

Doubt it. That would be more of a police and private investigator area. As this is grand theft auto (not the game). That is a felony and they will arrest the person on spot by gun point.
Just inform the insurance company of what is going on, along with any bank. They might let you slide on payment since you are not in possession or might assist in the finding of it. Specially the bank, since they have interest in the car as well. |

Call the police and file a report with them.
If the police do not take a report for the theft or unlawful use of the vehicle you will have a hard time proving the car was stolen - should the person you gave the keys to hit someone.
(I am assuming you gave them the keys to the car to use it for one reason - say to go to the store - but now they will not return it.) |

even if you gave them the keys to hold onto for any reason, if they did NOT have your authority to drive your car on that day/time/place, whatever, then you can report the car stolen. It's basically more of a joyriding offense or a lighter idea of a stolen car but it is illegal none-the-less. File a report with the cops immediately, and take it from there with them. explain the situation that you gave them keys however they did not ask to take the car. |

I'm pretty sure they wont, because that's all your fault. But report it to the police to find that person so you can sue him and what ever..

Depends. Read your policy. Most companies will not cover a theft if there was no forcible entry, meaning the key was used to steal the vehicle. Did you file a theft report with the police department? |

Insurance will not consider this a stolen vehicle. Instead, it is permissive use. Whether or not you told the other person they could use the vehicle is not relevant. By handing them the keys, you IMPLIED that they could. Heck, you don't even need to give them the keys. If you leave your keys laying around and your child or roommate picks them up, that is also implied consent (the theory being they they had regular, easy access to the keys). Even filing a police report will not guarantee success in a theft claim. Typically, the police report must be filed BEFORE any adverse actions take place. If you give someone keys, they get in an accident, and then you report it stolen your insurance will assume you are trying to avoid responsibility.
In this case, your only course of action is a civil matter. You must make a demand for the return of your property, preferably by certified mail. Keep very detailed records. If you do not get the property back, you must sue in civil court for all your losses. |
