It is always best to be truthful.

Lady Carole.
You have to tell them, it`s the licence not the vehicle they`re interested in.

Your 6 points are on your licence, and you use your licence for driving a car and riding a bike. The insurance company needs to know about the 6 points, and where they came from. Else, if you make a claim and they find the 6 points, they will cancel the policy and keep the money.

With the freedom of the road comes responsibility.. your name will be on a road traffic act list of uninsured drivers now. Car , motorbike , van , pcv or hgv...it makes no difference , you've broken the law.
Driving is getting very expensive , but that doesn't make it any better for people like you to take chances with other persons lives. I know the type... "It will never happen to me"---- and it did.
MOTs , tax and insurance registers are all combined now and the traffic cops can and will stop you a a seconds notice.
Tell the truth , or you will be in deep s.h.i.t. next time

Believe me before an insurance company will issue a police, thy check with the DMV. If it is on your record, thy will know even if you will not tell them. On the app, it ask questions about that and if you lie, it can be held against you
If the premium is to high shop around.

Yes. If you hurt or kill someone, and are privately sued, and your insurance company doesn't cover you because you BS'd on the form, what then? Short jail term methinks. Just remember here, you are thinking of commiting insurance fraud.

Yes, you do need to tell them about any criminal conviction. It's not worth the risk as they can turn down any claim if you don't disclose it, and it comes to light. Having said that, it's gonna be pretty expensive, but less than if you end up having to pay yourself if you injure someone or destroy their car.

You must tell your insurane about any points no matter what the vehicle is because they can invalidate your insurance if you need to make a claim and have not informed them of any points wether on your licence or (pending any court appearence)

Bardic
It makes no difference whatsoever whether it was a car you were driving or a bike. You MUST answer all questions they put to you fully and truthfully. Failure to do so will render your insurance invalid and you could face prosecution. And rest assured they will find out!

You now have a IN10 on you licence for 4years now and + your 6 points you have to tell the insurance to be covered or you could loss out. you cant join the police, fire service. That is the truth. But your insurance wont go up by much with a IN10 but the points will make it higher.

Elaine
always tell the truth .
if it comes out that you have with-held or not told the truth your insurance will become invalid.
its not worth the risk.

If you have points anywhere, they'll be on all your licenses.

Like, when I was in Florida, I got a ticket while riding my bike (!) and I had to go to bike safety school so I wouldn't get points on my driver's license. I mean my BICYCLE, not a motorbike/scooter/motorcycle. 2 wheels, no motor, bike.

They'll know about your points. You won't have to tell them.

BODGE IT AND SCARPER
Sorry, but yes you do have to. If you do not declare it, and you have an accident, and more important if they find out about the 6 points, it WILL invalidate your insurance and they wont have to pay a penny on any claim. If 3rd parties are involved, they will be forced to sue you in court, and you may get ANOTHER 6 points for failing to insure yourself - properly - hence A DRIVING/RIDING BAN! Insurance companies have got very good at finding these things out due to National databases that all insurance companies use for cross-checking people. When you make enquiries on the phone, they even lie detect you as you speak, so be aware!

Yes you will have to tell your insurance company unless you want an increasein your premium later when they run their routine Motor Vehicle Report or CLUE reports.

Jenna
yup because they will find out even if you don't tell them, and then you'll get in major **** for lying. trust me, i work in insurance, there is not much you can hide.

Twisted_Ace
You are required to tell any motor insurer of ANY points you have had in the last 5 years. That is the law.

Failure to disclose a "material fact" as it is known, is fraud. This can result in a prison sentence.

UCANTCME
You will need to tell them and if you don't they will find out sooner or later and could back charge you the difference for lying.

me16740
Dont matter if you do or dont they run your numbers and find out anything on them anyhow.

Ona
You don't have to tell them. They will find out on their own. If you lie, your rates will change when underwriting comes back with the real price.
