You will most likely be dropped by your insurance company and will have to get insurance from a company that specializes in high risk cases.

An SR-22 filing is simply a form the insurance company files with the state to let the state know you have liability insurance. The SR-22 itself is not that expensive. It is the high risk insurance that you are going to be paying for about 5 years that will be considerably higher.

Well, it's mostly going to depend on the state, but because you were drinking underage, it's going to be a lot.

You clearly can't afford a new car - with an SR22, you could be looking at $10,000 a year for insurance. But if you're currently insured with Geico, a quick call to them will give you an accurate quote.

Unless your looking for a lot of bad information I suggest you figure out what kind of car you'll be driving AND then call Geico, they are the ones that have to add the SR22 and they are the only ones who are going to tell you an accurate price for the DUI and results of it. I will tell you it is going to be an expensive lesson for you though.

SR22 insurance prices can vary a great deal between insurance carriers and there is no reason at all for you to stay with your current provider if you dont feel it is financially viable. Honestly, (and this is NOT meant to be insulting) I would seriously consider alternate means of transportation for the next couple of years. As inconvenient as it might be, you'll likely SAVE thousands (yes, THOUSANDS) by surrendering your license for two years. It's a very drastic move, but you're only helping the insurance companies bottom line by continuing to drive in the short run. Just one person's opinion.
