So i was waiting to make a left turn and someone switched lanes right in front of at the same time, so i guess it was my fault that she hit me
-_- but thats not the point. the point is that the officer has held me responsible for the minor accident, u could hardly see the scratch on her car and only the light cover broke on my car. Instead of giving me a ticket she have me a written warning, and i was wondering will my insurance go up because of this??

The warning has nothing to do with your insurance,,,,but....if your insurance company pays out on your behalf, they may (not will) raise your rates |

Probably if the other motorist report the accident to their insurance company and then yours. Negotiate with the motorist to have their car repaired and not report it to the insurance companies. Whatever you do get this done right away, and if her estimates are little too high pay it anyway and move on. Please be careful next time. Good luck |

A warning does not go on your DMV record.
But someone changed lanes in front of you while you were stopped waiting to make a left hand turn? If that is right,? How is the accident your fault?
Let your insurance company determine whose fault it is. The police do not determine whose fault the accident is. Only your insurance company gets the final word on whose fault the accident is.

Warning tickets dont show up in the system, so the insurance company won't know about it. However, if this was an official accident and claims need to be filed, then you betcha. |
