Try contacting the court in the area you were cited. They should be able to tell you the status of the ticket. Also, contact the DMV. If your response was lost in the mail your license could be suspended. |

Under the Road Traffic Act they have 6 months before they are 'out of time' and cannot take proceedings. |

they dont normally forget!! the case has to be heard first time at a magistrates court within 6 months of the date of offence. many areas have long queues to get to court. it would be normal to get corrspondance from the police within 6-8 weeks of the return of the forms identyfying the driver. you could just hope that its got lost in the system it does happen but it is rare. |

In my younger years when i drove Ilegally i sometimes got HORT1's (produce documents) which i could not do. often I ended up at court and got a nice BIG fine. Every now and then though, it would appear as if my HORT1 got 'mislaid and no action ever came from it. |

you are not off the hook yet i have known people who have had the letter 2 weeks before the 6 months so to be honest 2 3 months is nothing i had mine 5 months after the only advice i can give is after 6 months you can relax until then pray the scum dont send anything out |

Check with them that they actually recieved the form because they'll hold you responsible if they haven't and you'll lose the ability to take a fine and fixed points (so you'll have to go to court). If they have received it but haven't processed it within three months - bonus you're off the hook because they can't fine you after 3 months. |
