I got in a car accident with no insurance on private property?

my question now is what happens? i've had insurance all the time thing is my liscence got suspended so i wasnt driving and i felt i didnt have to pay for insurance i wasn't using. i NEEDED to go to the store (big mistake) and i got in a minor accident in a parking lot in Indiana i called my sister and the lady who i crashed with agreed to say my sis was driving (i was scared since my licsence was suspened) while we were telling our stories to the cop she turns around afterwards and told the cop we were lying i was so shocked i could not speak or defend myself . Now none of us got citied or anything since we were on private property and she had just got in a really bad accident not even 2 weeks before so her car was still damaged from last time, it was hard to tell what i actually did. She wanted 500 dollars so i just called the cops now she made me look bad, to bad people dont keep their word anymore , anyways now the cop wants to run my "almost" false report by the procecuter, can i really get jail time even though it was never actually proccessed. Cop even told the girl it was a strech. my questions now are am i going to get jail time or probation, how will the insurance thing go down and will i get any fines even though i was given none @ the site?

you have some really bad problems.

the insurance company will be able to determine the damages from the 1st accident and this accident.

when you talk to the insurance company, do not lie about who was driving.

since you live in Indiana where i live, this could go on your license as driving w/out insurance and no valid license. this will be added to the prior license suspension on your record. this record stays for 10 years.

my suggestion is to call a lawyer and get some legal advice. a lawyer can explain what you need to do. paying fines will not clear your license.

also; if you sometime get your car insured again, which you should and get your license reinstated, make sure all is clear. there are some insurance companies out there that will not pay for any liability if you have a suspended license. they have an exclusion in the policy.

like i said, talk to a lawyer. you have a lot of problems that need to be resolved.

She didn't make you look bad. You did that yourself by driving without a license or insurance and wanting to lie. You should have just agreed to pay the lady. I doubt you'll get jail time but I'm you'll get a hefty fine for no license and no insurance.

Obviously, there's no sense in rehashing how bid a decision you made in driving anywhere - you already realize this.
You were naive to think that this person would lie to the police on your behalf. What would she have to gain?
You must now correct your "almost?" false report and accept the responsibility for this error in judgment.

Wow. You commited a ton of crimes all in one day. Driving without a license, driving without insurance, makeing a false report. I'd imagine you will get cited for all of them

Well if you provide false information to the officer, it will classified as filing a false report, then if the insurance company finds out it could also be insurance fraud. As for the monetary values, you have no insurance and have no license, you will be liable personally for all damages and you will be lucky to get off with probation. lets break it down.

1. Driving with suspended License - Ticket

2. No Insurance - Ticket

3. Accident and lying to police about fact - Crime

4. Damages as a result - your responsibility

5. Huge Fines - Most Likely

6. Civil Liability - Most Likely

7. Criminal Penalties - Depends on whole situation, department, other party and other factors, each determined independtly.

It won't be much, but the fines will be high, and you may be without a license for a very long time.

First your vehicle would be uninsured she would need to go after you directly or use her coverage. As far as the report he can still charge you with making a false report because he was there and was writing the report it did not have to yet be written..I don't know about the jail time but possibly court time to explain...MENTION the attempted bribery on the part of the other driver to your insurance company anyway and still call the claim in to them..They may need to investigate but possibly will just send a letter stating there was no coverage for the loss to both you and the other driver.

If you didn't get a ticket,don't worry about it..the insurance will pay for her car.The other lady..so called..has done turned it into your insurance company..nobody go's to jail for just property damage and lieing to the cops, unless their drunk..or the like.
