I believe it was my fault and there was a police report.
I'm only a minor so we settled to pay the minor damages in cash at the body shop. Now, will the insurance still know about this or is there a way to avoid this by going to the police station? Both parties will NOT file insurance claims.

Yes, The insurance may find out about the accident. It is foolish to "settle on your own". Many bad things can and do happen when this is attempted. Why even bother to pay for insurance if you won't use it ? |

At least there was no claims filed. Did you get a ticket? If you did, that'll show up on your driving record and your insurance will find out. If you didn't get a ticket, maybe they won't. |

You are out of luck...if there is a police report, the the insurance co. will find out about it. Sorry, but that's just the way it works. |

If you didn't get a ticket, AND no insurance company pays out, then the insurance won't find out about it.
But, that was kind of a shortsighted move, settling for damages at the body shop.
See, now you're automatically on the hook for all medical bills, pain & suffering, etc, from this accident. You could end up oweing tens of thousands. Ooops. |
