hit me, was hit, and thats what caused her to hit me. Im wondering if anyone else has been in this situation? what did you do? i had a witness in the passanger seat. we werent hurt, i filed a police report, called the insurance company. what did you do if this has happened to you?

You did everything you need to do. The insurance companies will work it all out. Typically, each insurance company will pay for their insureds damages and then subrogate with the other companies and in the end the insurance company that insured the instigator will end up paying. Simply sit back and let them do their thing.

It should be the fault of the person who hit first, always, because the domino effect wouldn't have started if it wasn't for their recklessness.

Yes it did happen to me. I was the second vehicle stopped at a red light. A car piled into me from the rear and another into her back end. Sending me under the truck ahead of me. The insurance company was going to treat them as separate accidents and my insurance company was going to be stuck with the cost of repair to my car. Which incidentally they tried to write of. I fought with the other peoples insurance company's for 3 months. Threatened to report them to the IBC along with the police report and lots of witnesses statements. They eventually gave in and repaired my car that didn't cost my insurance company a cent. Therefore I didn't get a substantial premium increase at renewal time.
