I did not hit any other car. I hit the side walk and now my front tires are unalinged this is basically my fault. Is it better for me to report it to my car insurance or try to pay it myself out of my pocket.

I have my deductibles set at $500.00 since the increase in premium isn't worth anything under that cost.
I would get the estimate and decide from there. It might be a simple alignment (I just paid &69.00 for one a month ago.) Or, you may have bent something. That could be anywhere from a few hundred to over a thousand dollars.
The estimate is the key. |

get an estimate before you do anything. if the cost is more than your deductible, claim it on your insurance. if it's less, pay for it yourself. |

Get an estimate for realignment. The chances are that the cost to repair would be a lot less than the cost of an increase in insurance payments and in addition if this accident is not on your driving record a claim will put it there which could be a problem if there were another accident later. Also unless you hit very hard this might not even be called an accident and they might just say you were trying to get them to pay for routing normal upkeep which they won't do,. |
