I had a small car accident and we decided to go through insurance?

she actually backed up into my car and caused a crack in the front bumper. She gave me all of her information and the insurance policy number and called me today to tell me that they've just informed their auto insurance company. I was driving my husband's expensive car and he's away on a business trip. Now that they've contacted their insurance what do I do now? Do I contact my insurance and let them know? Will her insurance completely cover for the repair?

Yes you have to contact your insurance company. It depends on the damage and cost. If the driver's insurance can't cover the entire cost, that driver might have to pay the rest out of their pocket or your insurance might be able to cover it. Depends on your insurance company. If you dont mind me asking. What kind of car is it?

Call your insurance ASAP and allow them to handle the entire matter. Thats what you pay premiums for.
Always call the police and always call your own insurance. Always !

The most important thing is to make sure you get proper repairs for your car. Maybe ask for original Mercedes parts. There are after-market parts that are not made by the manufacturer of your car which might affect fit and function. There could be other parts damaged under the bumper which might not be noticed without taking the bumper off. It would be a good idea to pick a reputable shop that will look out for your interest. Have the car inspected at a shop of your choice. Ask friends and family for the name of a shop they know.

Notifying your own insurance company is probably a good idea.
