I had to hand back my Licence because i had a seizure. I have had an MRI and EEG and given the all clear?

I feel for you. DVLA Rules normally require 1 year off driving after a "one-off" seizure, with a medical review before reissue of a licence. I'd be inclined to give 'em a ring to check.

They normally tell you you have to wait 6 months depending on if it was just a one off. But as I discovered you will probably wait around 10 months as they are constantly back dated. Best thing to do is to keep getting onto them to see where they are up to.

i would contact the dvla with any kind of seizure you normally have to be seizure free for a year before the dvla will reinstate your licence,this happened to my friend she had a virus which caused her to fit.

It will depend on the type of seizure and the doctors prognosis, but you will have to be clkear of seizures for a specified amount of time before they will consider giving you your license back. It used to be 2 years clear for epilepsy. Best thing to do is to contact DVLA and see how your case is progressing.

Sorry I wont give you the answer you hope for. When I was 17 I had a seizure, like you had all the test done & nothing was found. However although I went a number of years without one on the odd occassion I do get them. I pessume you had an accident when you had your seizure I'm not judging just asking. If so that would explain you're losing your licence but if you ever had a seizure again & you were indeed behind the wheel would you like to be responsible for the possible deaths of innocent people. I am not saying you will have another seizure but there is always that chance, are you prepared to risk it? I understand the need for independance but what is more important. Just think about it, then proceed as you see fit.

Give the DVLA a ring and see whats going on

Some state require to take a pearsons licence away for at least 6 month some are more. If the pearson doesnt have a seizure in that timeframe. They can get their licence back. You might want to check in to your DVLA laws.

Most likely you need a note from your doctor, allowing you to drive, then the DMV will review the request. If you have already sent everything - PICK UP THE PHONE and call them, or go in to check on the status. Sitting around being non-pro-active will get you nowhere!

Have a look at the DVLA website. It has a section on medical disabilities. I hope you are fully recovered and don't get any repeats, but please do remember there are other people on the roads if you want to drive again. As well as your Licence issues you also must disclose all this to your insurers
