We can't help you if you don't tell us what state you're in.
In CO, you can start drivers ed when you're 15.5. You have to take a drivers ed class with 30 hours of classroom + 6 hours behind the wheel with an instructor, plus log 100 hours with your permit of driving with your parent, then, assuming you're 16, you can get your license as soon as you have done all of those requirements. But there are restrictions on your license like you can't drive between 12-5AM and you can't have anyone under 21 in the car the first 6 months you have your license, and you can only have 1 person under 21 in the car until you've held a license for a year. If you want to wait to get your license without taking a class, you still have to pass a written test and log 100 hours, but you have to wait until you're 17 to apply. All the restrictions of when you can drive, and the reduced number of points you have on your license (oh yeah, when you're under 18 you only get 6 points on your license), are removed when you turn 18 and have had a license for at least a year.
But yeah that's what they are in CO. I think they are more complicated/strict than most.
So in CO, to just take the written test and DMV driving test and skip the class, you have to wait until you're 17, and log the 100 hours with your parents. Or you can take the class and log the 100 hours starting when you're 15.5 to get your license when you turn 16. |

you can get your permit at 15 and a half without drivers ed if you take the test
however you can not get your license until you are 18 if you have not taken a drivers ed course,
no matter what age you get your permit you must have it for six months before you get your license.
so if you dont take drivers ed you have to wauit until your 18 to get you license |

You can just pay the money and get your permit. However, most (if not all) states have a law saying minors must take drivers' ed.
In the event your state requires it, the only way to dodge it is to wait until you're 18.
Either way, your insurance costs will be cheaper if you take the class. |

No you dont need drivers ED .You will have to take a more intensive Road test if you dont take the class. No you can get your reg lic at 18 if you pass all the test at the DMV but it harder. |

I do not know if states are the same, but in California you have to take the test to get a drivers permit. Then you have to take behind the wheel lessons by a company. After a certain amount of hours then you can drive with anyone over the age of 25. When you get your drivers license you can only drive if someone is with you for 6 months. It isn't until then that you get to drive yourself. And if you are over 18 years you can get your permit and then you license without having to do lessons and have to drive with someone. I think your best bet is to check your state DMV website and maybe it can help you answer so it can help you answer some of those questions. |

at 15 you can get the license were you have to drive with someone who has got a real license (+16)
when you are 16 you can get your own license were you drive alone
here is a link that will help

You can get a permit, by yourself, don't even need Drivers ed (thats the test). But you have to take Drivers Ed to do a 'Road test'
If you don't have that little paper from Drivers Ed you can't take it. Until your 18 (out of school) |

I don't know the eaxact ages which depend on where you live anyway. But the big picture is you get a learner's permit which let's you drive with an adult driver superivising (like your Father). Then you take a test and get a junior license, which allows you to drive by yourself but with certain restrictions. Then, when you are 18 you get a regular license. You don't need to go to driver's school, although it helps. |

it depends on what state u're in. in MI you must be AT LEAST 16 to take the test, then after 6 months or when u're 17 (whichever comes last)you get ur full license. then when u're 21 it goes from vertical to horizontal. the rules on what preparation you need will probably vary from state to state as well. here you must complete a training course, or if you're 18 you can prepare however you want and take the road test. the road test is 40 bucks |

it depends on the state you live in. At my high school, they had a free driver's ed class, and in order to get your license in Alabama, you have to pay to take a written test and a drivers test. I would contact the DMV of your city to find out more information. |
