It really depends on the insurance company. Some insurers will lower your premium as they will consider a full licence holder to have more experience, however, some insurers think learner drivers (with a provisional licence) are safer than drivers that have just passed their test as they are supervised so are less likely to take risks.
Why don't you call the insurance company that gave you the quote and ask them?

Get your mum or dad to put you on their insurance as a named driver, if you brought the you should register in mum or dads name do this for a couple of years then get your own I did this for my son as it is expensive for the young drivers |

Well any insurance quote will go down once you have a full licence. Your age also has a lot to do with the amount you are quoted. If you are under 21 then you are going to get hit hard because that is the age group that has the most accidents and therefore are more of a risk. Just be careful and build up your no claims bonus and don't get any points on your licence. That way your insurance premiums will soon drop. |

I've heard that your premium can increase as you'll only have had a full licence for a few days. Interestingly; I've also heard that Endsleigh do not change your insurance premium in this instance. I'd recommend calling them to check this. Of course; this is only useful for you if their initial quote is a good one!

If you take it out it will last you for 12months and you will have to make a new claim then, so insure for 3months, that way you will make some savings, good luck |
