You will probably get a fine and they may suspend you license for a short time or they could put you on a good driving behavior bond and if you break that they will suspend your license for longer. Mind you if you don't currently have any points lost then you will lose some and you will still get a fine. Been there done that twice so that's what happens in Australia anyway. |

How were you caught? If it was a camera, you're likely to receive a fixed penalty notice, gaining you 3 points and a £60 fine. If you were caught by the police, it would appear they are considering prosecuting you, as otherwise they'd have offered you the fpn. If so, and if you're found guilty, it's likely to cost you quite a bit more, I'm afraid. |

I would say £60 and 3 points. It wont really push your insurance up but make sure you let them know. :) |

You can expect an increase of $40 per month on your auto insurance premiums. This will add points on your driving record that will stay for at least 3 years. So this ticket will end up costing you around $1480 plus ticket fees. IF you haven't went to court or paid the ticket yet there may still be time to get help. Most judges will allow you to take a defensive driving course or allow you to take deferred judification or a probation period which will keep the ticket off your record. The best part about this is that you will only have to go to court and ask the judge for these options. You will have to still pay the fines of the ticket, but if you do everything the judge ask of you then the ticket will not go on your driving record.
