It is not registered to you, and therefore not your property. I reccomend you return it DVLA immidiately.

The Disc should have vehicle details printed / written on it based on the vehicle's details. If these are not there, you should be able to exchange the item for cash funds.

It is not your problem, The previous owners should have edited their address details when moved, so If you did take it, they may learn their lesson that way.

call this a fortuitous sign. if you feel like you need the money then sell it on ebay or someone in work or a social venue for a bit cheaper than the normal price. providing you can sell it (dont know about registerings)

I doubt it would have been ADDRESSED to you, so you opened someone Else's mail. You also have to state why it is being cashed in. The true owner of the vehicle will be informing the DVLA that he hasnt received it if he still wants to run it.

no think about it the dvla sent the disc to your address and they all have a serial number so they know where you live, in the old days a dodgy disc was worth money as you could put your own details on it, but now its all done by computer the police now if the car is taxed or not regardless of whether there is a disc in the window or not

No, for a start you opened a letter in someone elses name, that illegal for a start, to use it, you would be committing fraund by deception, i sugest you send it back and tell them you opened the latter by accident, what do you think will happen when the buyer doesnt recieve it? - report it!

you are an idiot to cash a tax disc in you have to send it back to the dvla with a form you have filled in .then they will send you a cheque in the name of the people that lived there before so how are you going to cash that then
