Not really enough information to help you. You have a title. Is it YOUR title, with your name as the owner? If not, what are you doing with it in the first place? Did you just happen to find a title on the street somewhere? If so, it's a lost title, and the owner has probably applied for a lost title, and the one you have is canceled.
Did you loan someone money, and they handed you the title to their car, and then didn't pay you back? Unless they signed the title over to you, and you put your name on as legal owner, you have no claim to the car whatsoever. Again, they probably already applied for a lost title and yours is void.
But again, your question is way too vague to get an answer. More information is needed. |

If it is under your name, you can by making a stolen car police report. If it is under someone else's name, it would be difficult.

You need to give a little more information.
Is the title in your name and you lost your car? Report it stolen so the police will find it.
Did you just find a title laying about and it's in someone else's name? The owner probably has applied for a lost/duplicate title which makes that one null and void.
With the VIN# the DMV can look up the car with it's most recent address info, but they're not going to tell you...it's a privacy thang.(sic) |
