Show your insurance and don't say anything and they'll lower the fine. |

Don't lie. They hear lies all day every day and can spot them from a mile away. If you have insurance now, they will usually just suspend judgment on the ticket - meaning you are not found guilty of anything. |

In Texas, if you go to court, show you have insurance, your ticket is usually dismissed. Some jurisdictions require payment of court costs which can be up to $200.
Don't volunteer anything. Simple say you now have insurance. |

Say nothing unless he asks why you did not have insurance. Then...Claim poverty and show him that you have done the responsible thing by getting insurance, after all.
That's the best that you can do.
good luck |

In my state, if you get a no insurance ticket, and a court date, but get insurance before the court date, the ticket for no insurance is either dropped, or lowered greatly. Just depends on your prior driving record, and the mood of the judge. Just hope he/she got a little nookie the night before, and is in the christmas spirit.
Good Luck! |

Depends on the state. Be honest for one thing. I got a 260 dollar ticket and then had to pay 260 every year for three years to keep my license. |

Just say you're sorry and you have learned your lesson. Don't try to argue. Tell him your side and hope for the best. |

Just show proof of insurance, where I live they usually have are a little forgiving. Pay the ticket! Go to defensive driving if you get the chance. Maybe they will have a Holiday Spirit and be easy on you! |

you might expect to pay a fine |

You could very well lose your driver's license. You might get off with a fine. Also you might get off with nothing more than a warning from the judge or a dismissal.
If the police officer who gave you the citation does not show up to testify, the judge might throw out the case and you would get off scott free.
Once I got a ticket and ran into a lawyer I knew and asked him if there was a way around it. He said I should go to court, see if the officer showed up, and if he did, go to the pay phone and request a postponement. Then show up when it was re-scheduled and the officer might not show up. I tried it and it worked and the judge dismissed the case. |

The judge will make it quick and painless. S/he'll ask for proof of insurance, issue you a fine, and tell you, "Merry Christmas". |

Be very polite and don't give any one a hard time. Tell the judge that you are sorry that the insurance had expired and the insurance company did not remind you of a missed payment or of a renewal coming up. Make sure you bring proof of insurance with you to show them you are in good faith. Did you get a notice from the court to appear or is that what the officer told you. Sometimes you can call the court and ask what the fine is, they will tell you and then make sure it is paid before the court date. |

Take proof of your insurance to court. The insurance company should have provided paperwork called a 'binder'. Take the binder with you when you go to court. |

Driving without insurance is a misdemeanor punishable by a $175 to $350 fine on the first offense and $350 to $1,000 fine after the first offense.
That does not include the fine to check a vehicle out of the impound lot, which begins at $133.30 if it was impounded.
Plus the speeding ticket and all court costs as well.
Dress nice, hopefully you have a job or go to school, be polite, speak only when spoken to and ask for defensive driving.
Good Luck |

Show him/her that you have proof of insurance, and that you are sorry but you didn't have a copy in the vehicle when you were pulled over. You will still have to pay court cost, usually about $80.00, but you might not get fined. |
