All you need is your current tag number. They can pull up everything else on the computer. No big deal. |

your VIN is on a small plate on your dash board. Also you can give them your license plate number. Your old registration also contains all the info you need. |

If you are speaking of the vin (Vehicle Identification Number), it will be on your insurance card, or on the car itself--look inside the front door.
I would guess that your insurance company might have any other info that you might need, or contact the state agency where you register they probably have it on file. |

ya, do it on line- you get your vin # from the inside panel of your car door or the windshield. thats all you need online besides your license and stuff. |

If you mean the V.I.N. (vehicle identification number), it will be on your front, driver's side dash (so it can easily be viewed through the front windshield from the outside of the car). Every car has its V.I.N. there, and I believe that is what you're after. |

If you mean your vehicle Id....there should be a plate attached to your dashboard on the drivers side...it's also attached to your engine (if it's original) but that's much harder to find. |

You can go to the DMV with your car info and your old registration. If you're a AAA member, you can do it at their office.
Add: A lot of people are saying you can do this online. It depends on your state; in California you need the ID number from your renewal notice to register online. |

your dmv will have your info in their database. Usually there is no documentation that is needed. They use the same database that cops use when they run your plates. |
