I just crashed my car, it was my fault, but what if they claim?

I just reversed at a petrol station into a stationary car. I gave them my details, apart from insurance. Now although I only caused a crack to the license plate. What will this do to my insurance, if they intend to procede that way.
The man was very understanding and Is going to contact me soon.
However if there is a sudden change of mind a quick cheap job can't be done, and he intends to claim.
Where do I stand?

If you offer to pay the bill out of your pocket, then you don't go through insurance and it's like nothing ever happened. If he tells you it's a ton of money and you don't have that kind of cash, you will need to go through your insurance and at that point, your rates will go up because you were at fault. |

Honestly I don't know what will happen to your insurance. Best thing to do is to contact your insurance company. Give them every detail of the accident. They are not there to make your life miserable. They are there to help you in times like these. Did you get any information from the other driver? Give them EVERY detail. If you know what type of car he drives, give them that too. Accidents happen. That's why they are called accidents but, your insurance company is there to help you. |

no police report? if not theres no paper trail. ive been in 3 wrecks never filed a report so theres no paper trail and if there is no police report he cant turn it in to insurance because theres no proof it ever happened. |
