hi everyone lt me tell you upfront that any help will be greatly appriciated
this is what ahppend i was driving 35 m/h and all of the sudden all the cars in front off me smased their brakes beacuse of the red light so i did to but my car slide and ship the car in front of me not a big deal the damages wont probably cost more than $500 for each car the police came and gave me a ticket for $141 and said beacuse i have CDL A licence i could not go to school and get the points off from it and game me 4 points i am thinking to go to court because i dont think that is my foult that the driver in front of me smshed his brakes and stop of course that still wont help me but i am trying to find out if will worht at least to go to court and fight for that or at least to see if they will let me go to school please let me know what are all my options and if you have had this problem what have happend i live in florida thanks

I am not in Florida. However, you don't want to hear this but,
the accident is your fault because you failed to provide enough space so you could stop in time (following to closely). This may not seem fair but that is what the judge will say.
And, if you got a ticket with the accident you might be able to go to traffic school. You need to check with the DMV or the court.
Did you have auto insurance? I Hope so. |

car253 is correct, the accident will be considered your fault. Based on the information you provided, the car in front stopped at a red light as required by law, and the reason you ran into it (even if the road was too slick) would be either you were speeding, or you did not have enough space between the cars.
So no, it is not worth it (to you) to go to court. As a matter of fact, you should be glad Florida is a no-fault state, otherwise you would be responsible for any damage to the other car and any injury to the driver. |

If you were traveling 35 mph nearing a controlled intersection you were not driving safely. You were also following too closely if you were not able to stop before striking the person in front of you. If you left adequate distance between you and the vehicle in front of you, you could have stopped in time. |
