He has claimed to the insurance company that his van was stolen by someone who was test driving it in order to buy it. Then he told me that he it had not been stolen but he had disposed of the van and told the insurance company and the police it had been stolen. What do I do?

Find out if the police have a fraud division, but report it to them regardless. If you know the insurance company he's with call them and see if you can remain anonymous. |

i would try to contact the insurance company - the police will likely do little- he needs to be turned in |

Well Melissa, morally you should report him. But ask yourself, what benefit is it to me. You'll at the least lose a friend amd at the most? Who knows. My advice is to stay out of it. |

first it is not easy to just dispose of a vehicle, the junk yards have to keep records. I would suggest to stay out of it since you don't really know other than him telling you. Are you aware insurance co's commite fraud everyday on legit claims so maby what goes around comes around. |
