I am only 18 years old i need insurance for a day or two whilst my car is in the garage and i plan to drive my parents car i cannot find a company who will take me on as i am under 21 any advise ? thanks alot :)

ask them to put you on there car insurance policy as a "named driver" will be you cheapest option |

right the only way around this is to get added to your parents policy as a temporary additional driver for those days. i work for a broker so i know what im talking about. you will never get insurance in your name to cover you on someone elses policy. this is because you need to have an insurerable interest in the vehicle which you dont. say for example, you insurer your parents car, you have an accident - your insurers pay out making the cheque in your name.legally, you do not need to use that cheque to pay for the repairs to your parents car if you dont want to. then your parents are stuck with a car they cant afford to repair and the insurers wont pay for the repairs again as they have technically paid for it already. |
