I WANT TO FILE THE CLAIM FOR THE INSURANCE TO PAY FOR MY RIM BECAUSE I DENTED THE RIM ----ALSO CAN I GET THE 2500 FROM PIP FROM MY INSURANCE SINCE I'M GOING TO FILE THE CLAIM

Personally I would not file. The same thing happened to me and the rim was not too expensive to replace, I think less then $200. If you did more damage you may need an alignment also.

it would be a lot cheaper for you to buy the rim and replace it your self,if you file a claim on this one you probably have a deductible,and that may be more than the rim is going to cost you,plus it may make your insurance go up as well,i think id just buy a new rim,and not report this one,its up to you ,good luck on it. |

How much is a new rim? You'll have to pay your collision deductible, and if the rim costs more than the deductible, they'll pay.
Also, the PIP pays MEDICAL BILLS. So what kind of injuries did you have when you dented your rim? How big are your medical bills?
And, you know, if you file a claim, your insurance rates will go up, right? And it will be an "at fault" accident and follow you at least three full years, depending on what state you are in. |

What 2500? PIP is for injuries and I really doubt you are hurt from this accident. You can file a claim for damages but be aware that there will be a collision deductible. A remanufactured aluminum wheel can be purchased for $130.00 so your entire claim may be less than your deductible. |

I doubt the repair on the rim will be more then your duductable. A rim is cheap (if it is the steel rim) and if it is an aluminum rim, it will be more expencive, but still not worth getting the insurance company involved. I work in a garage, and every so often we get someone bringing a vehicle in, and us finding a damaged rim and having to send it out for repair. I think the most we've paid for that was about $350 CDN, and that was for a chromed rim off of a brand new BMW. Check the yellow pages, or call a local tire shop for more information. |

you'll have to either read your contract or call your agent be careful you may see a rate increase if you file a claim |
