rear ended somebody today & i cannot make ANY more claims on my insurence. the damage was not too bad, just a few scratches on my car & a few on the guy's car who i hit, along with a small crack on his bumper..maybe two or three inches.. i convinced them not to call the cops or insurence company & gave them my number & address.. how much do you think it will cost me to fix their car? will they have to replace the entire bumper?? im worried sick @ the moment..

If you're gonna circumvent the insurance company, you're completely at the other guy's mercy. Tell them to take it to 3 shops for estimates and they'll say, nah, my buddy's gonna fix it and it'll cost 2K. What are you going to do then? If you don't pay it, they'll turn it into the insurance company. If you do pay it, after cashing your check, they might turn it into the insurance company anyway. You'll also owe them for a rental for however long it takes to fix. Sounds like a small deal, but it could get to be a big deal if you don't watch it. I'd file the claim, just my opinion. |

You must not be a good driver if your insurance won't allow you to make anymore claims. Learn safe following distance and you won't rear end someone.
I'll have them take the car to 3 body shops for estimates. After you see the final bill, then pay them. It'll probably be from $200 to $1300 if you had to replace the bumper. |

You need to have them take it to a body shop and get an estimate from them. Ideally you take it to a few body shops so you don't get ripped off. |
