I totaled my car and plan on filing two different claims. What's the worst that could happen?

I totaled my car & didn't have insurance. When I told my loan company, they force placed insurance on my account. They sent their adjuster out to look at it and he confirmed it was totaled. They deducted that amount from my loan AND LET ME KEEP THE CAR! They gave it a salvaged title. It is still drivable. At the same time, I reinstated my old insurance with Farmer's and told them it was a hit and run. They sent an adjuster out an again deemed it as totaled. They wanted to pay the loan up to the car's worth and TAKE THE CAR, but I still would have a little left over to pay on the loan from interest. I closed the claim with Farmers but they said I could re-open it at anytime. Now that the loan is paid off, I want to reopen the claim so that the money goes directly to me and I can get a new car. Will there be any consequences for filing a claim with two different companies?

Since the car is totaled, your loan company should have requested a Salvage title. That is what will be given to you. The car is not legal to register OR insure when it has a salvage title until all repairs are made & your states requirements are fulfilled that determines the car is again safe to operate, register & insure.

What you want to do is commit insurance fraud. That will end with your insurance company revoking your insurance & file criminal charges against you. If you would get a settlement from them before they find out that you defrauded them, they will sue you to get every single penny of the money back that they gave you & they will use any means necessary to get their money back- lawsuit, garnish your wages, etc.

Do this and it will result in jail time for you. Because your insurance company will eventually find out.

insurance fraud is a felony

You can go to jail. In this day and age your chances of getting caught are high. Was it realy a hit and run? If so you could get some help. You can see if you can change to another insurance company. People cancel insurance and get new insurance all the time. No wonder insurance cost alot. Drive more careful so your insurance won't be high.

pay it forward
You want to reopen the claim so the money goes directly to you? What money. I am not able to keep up with this but it sounds like you are trying to profit from insurance. Insurance is not supposed to be profited from it is suppose to be there so a person can return to where they were before the accident happened.

This is called perpetrating a fraud. The insurance companies do check other companies claims and while they may not find out within the next month or so they will eventually find out when your state puts the accident report on the insurance network. It will be available to every insurance company at that point and the trail leads right back to you. This can get you up to and including a jail sentence.

You have committed insurance fraud. Bubba is going to be waiting for you in the next cell.
