I was drunk and hit a parked car last night and ran?

It has been 3 days since the incident. I do not think there was much damage to the other car, I did not leave a note. I told the insurance that I left a note and there was no damage to the other car. Should I report the incident to the police? What are the chances i will be caught? If I am caught, how long until the police can come find me? Please help, I do not know what to do. My friends are saying done worry about it now because nothing good can come from calling the police. PLEASE HELP

I did learn my lesson and I know i am a stupid person, but I can not loose my license or go to jail or i will loose my job and more. So, all moral issues aside, what do I do? can i not just say if i get caught that I did leave a note, it blew away, and I looked for damage there was none to my eye, but that is why ileft the note so they could contact? I essentially told the insurance company and my parents the truth minus the drinking. I even told both insurance and parents i did not call the cops. So can I not just claim ignorance until the insurance company comes around? Is there anyway to check if a hit and run was reported? because if so, then I will definatly turn myself in if I can verify that.

You ran from the scene of a crime; which you created while drunk driving, which is another crime.

You made a fraudulent report to your insurance company, which is yet another crime....

And yeah, you should call the police. Your friends are retards, and listening to them will just cause more problems.

I don't know how old you are, but what good has ever come from postponing the truth from people? You can't hide things from your parents, you can't hide things from the cops.

I agree with Vipassan. The longer you wait to come clean, the worse it will be. Man up, take your medicine and learn a valuable lesson. The only bright side is you didn't kill anyone.

You should have left a note, but it's too late now. If you report it now to the police, they may charge you with leaving the scene.
That's criminal and could be a big fine.
Since you already told the insurance co. they'll ask you if you heard from the people since they have to pay them. I wouldn't have told the insurance co. if the damage is small since your deductible amount prob. will fix the damage.

Were you in a parking lot? If so, you may not be obligated to call the police, because you were on private property.

At this point, they cannot prove that you were drunk, so you are probably safe on that point. There is also a chance that your "note" could have fallen off the other car. Your main problem is going to be with the insurance company, who may not pay your claim. There's also a chance that the other person could have made a police report, and that your insurance company could connect the dots and find out about it. I see NO point in calling the police.

Although what you did was undeniably wrong, dangerous, illegal and could have resulted in the death of an innocent person, I will hope for the best and believe you have learned a lesson. Please, never drink and drive ever ever again. Please take a moment and realize that even in this question, you are displaying only concern for yourself , and no remorse either for damaging someone else's property, but also for the chance you took with the lives of others by drinking and driving. This is the main point here. Please stop thinking only about yourself.

Well, in your situation I would not call the police. You are way too deep in the game to get out. If you call the police, your definitely doing time. If you don't then you have a slight chance of getting away with it or if you get caught at a later time you get one extra charge and still do time (probably a little more).
