I am from Michigan and have resided in Indiana for the last 6 yrs. and I know Michigan road laws, even though both drivers reside in Indiana, you are bound by the laws in the state the accident occurred. Did the other driver receive a ticket stating this;''Failure to stop in a assured clear distance resulting in accident''? The other driver should have been ticketed for at least that. And YES, you definitely have a case for injury, keep every document that you get pertaining to your injuries and there are countless lawyers that will take your case with no money up front till you win your case. |

First of all, legal suites should be your last option. It's expensive and time consuming.
Was the driver insured? If so, their company will want to settle for the injuries.
