I am 18 years old. My car wasnt worth much... 4k? I noticed some companies offer accident forgiveness.. but im not sure how that works. Just to get my name added to my dad's car insurance is 700$ for 6 months. There is no way ill ever be able to afford car insurance on my next car when just having my name added to another is so much. Does anyone have any advice or know what i should do?

I'm assuming it was your fault. It doesn't matter how much the car was worth, the insurance companies now consider you a high risk. Look for an inexpensive car that can be paid in full. Then get liability only. That will keep your cost a bit lower. |

Mayby you'll have to start with just liability insurance instead of
full-coverage. There are some companies that offer cheap insurance but they are not well known at all. You'll have to do your research to find out the best coverages. |
