I was in an accident, i didnt have insurance,he plead guilty in court, now he wont contact me!!!!!?

In december i got in an accident made a police report (cops came), i didnt have insurance at the time and he didnt have proof, it was a DL plate (dealer) anyhow we had court on feb 5th, and he plead guilty, then the prosecutor told me to copy his insurance, which i took, then we were dismissed.

he called me from his cell phone in court, i showed him the number and he said thats the right number.

5 days later i call him, he says no there is no one by that name everytime i call. i think his insurane is fake too (only 300)worth of damage, but i want to get him, because im tired of this kind of bull.

I drive a BMW so it can get expensive quick, what are my options, i have his DL address, his License number and all,

what are my options, please help.
(btw it was his fault, he side swiped me while standing at a railroad crossing, moron comes in between the lanes)

My car was in repair, 2 days before that my insurance lapsed and i didnt put it on auto renew like i always do, because it was some shitty company, when i found out, i switched to geico. I have paid my insurance off, it was a forgetful mistake. Dont make useless comments please.

Go talk to he prosecutor. Get his information and a copy of the judgment and file for damages. You may have to take him to small claims court. Get three estimates for the damage, go for the middle of the road one and keep the estimates and the repair bill for court. Since he has admitted fault you will probably win, but if he doesn't show up or pay the bill you can apply to have his wages garnished...is all THAT worth $300...if it is then go for it, if not swallow the loss...it's only $300

How can you say that you are tired of the BS when you don't carry insurance either? It's like the pot calling the kettle black. Just go back to court and persue it. but I would be careful If I where you, you keep driving without insurance you are going to be in the same boat that he is, the damage might even be more. Oh and if you have the insurance info, then just call them and leave him out of it, unless the insurance proves false then like i said earlier take him back to court.

Isn't it illegal to be driving without insurance? You're driving a BMW without insurance? You took the risk and it bit you in the ***. My advice on how to proceed. Take it as a lesson to make sure you obey the law. It's there to protect you.

I know this doesn't help you, but I would like to know what you were doing driving a vehicle without insurance. That is illegal in like 45 states.

You can contact his insurance company yourself and set up the claim.

Just call the insurance company yourself and file a claim. They will attempt to contact him and if they are unable to they will just pay for the damage.

If the insurance he gave you was fake, take him back to court and expose him for giving you fraudulent insurance information.

And by the way to the other people commenting, perhaps she meant she didn't have full coverage insurance- only liability. Liability is all that is legally required, but would not cover the damage to her vehicle.

Call the prosecutor at the courthouse. Let them know that the other driver presented false insurance information to you.

The prosecutor will handle it from there.

What do you mean his insurance is fake? Did you actually tried contacting them? You are supposed to be dealing with them anyway, not the driver. If you find he gave you a fraudulent info, take him back to court and ask them how to proceed with this situation.

Take him to civil court and get him for negligence.

Why are you making this so complicated. You have the alleged insurance company info. Call them, and pursue a claim for the damage to your vehicle. They will let you know if he has coverage for this loss. If he is found to be at-fault for the accident, they will pay you for your damages.

If he is not insured with them, they can run a plate check for you. The plate check will provide you with the insurance info you need.

If he is uninsured, file a small claims action.
