Most insurance company subrogation departments are willing to work with you. At my company, they'll take down to $50-75/month if you can show that's all you can afford.

However, be very aware that if you don't keep your end of the agreement, they can and will take you to court and get a judgement against you, which could ruin job applications, car loans and mortgages for some time to come. Most don't bother with collections anymore due to the high cost, they just go for the judgement. We get calls weekly from car & home loan companies asking about unpaid judgements found on credit reports, even years later. It will always come back to haunt you if you plan to finance anything.

Give the insurance company a call now before they call you, find out just how much you owe, and make a reasonable payment offer per month. Be nice and polite but be firm if they try to bully you into paying more than you can afford -- but pay as much as you can, as there is usually no interest and the quicker you get it over with, the better.

Stress to them that you're making the good faith attempt to settle without them having to hound you/hunt you down. Come to an agreement and STICK with it. I always recommend setting up an automatic withdrawl out of your checking account on payday (I have several claimants who pay $25/week on payday instead of a monthly lump sum to make it less painful.)

And please, please get yourself some minimal insurance. It would have saved you all this grief - and money.

Call them and see if they will take payments, if not when they send it to collections make sure you pay on time to the collections agency. If your credit is okay, you may be able to take out a loan to pay for the damages and make payments that way.

They usually will work with you. They want their money, so they'll do what they have to get the full amount. Just call them...

They expect payment in full immediately. If not, they will file a complaint with the DMV and your license will be suspended until the damages are paid in full. I've got a family friend who has been walking for over 15 years because of this. Unless he hits the lotto, he'll never pay it off in in this lifetime

Send them a payment and see what happens if they don't cash the check then you have to pay in full but if they cash it keep sending them the same ever 4 weeks or just give them a call and ask them

ok first off my licence was suspended in june but got pulled over this month but i was unaware of this... i never received any letter or anything saying this, all i knew was that the licence was in my pocket and i thought it was still good,, not thinking it wuldent be...

next i had noinsurance unaware of this aswell,, no letters or anything was sent to me,, saying i had no insurance... i thought they took the money out of my back because i was missing some monney, but i was acually missing money because my work did not pay me fully that week.,.
so me thinking i had insurance and a licence and not thinking i didntt,, gt pulled over and a bunch of tickets..

what do i do in court??
what are the fines or penalties??
and will my licence be suspended again

and how much will my insurance cost once i get back on the road (approximatly)

does the state your in require insurance, most do so it could cause you more problems than you think, if it were me i would get insurance before you go to court it will look better to the judge, about the accident im not sure insurance companies are sue happy they might give you some time but after that they will probably try prosecute you if they do youll add more money to the whole thing, court costs probably have to get a lawyer it will cost you more if you try to put it off to long
