my car had been in the shop for 2 months I was driving a family members at the time but right when I got the car back I went to pick some people up from a bar and be sober cab for them so I took my minivan so there was room for everyone when I pulled out of the parking lot he pulled me over I passed the field sobriety test because I wasnt drinking but I didnt have insurance how can get insurance for that time

Basically, you can't. No insurance company will back-date a policy. You're going to have to pay a fine for driving without insurance. You need to appear in court with an insurance policy that's valid NOW, or you'll be in more trouble.
On the other hand, if you can show proof that you have liquid assets in excess of the state's minimum for "financial responsibility," usually $25,000, you may avoid a fine. "Liquid assets" means cash in a checking or savings account, or an established line of credit, stocks, bonds, certificates of deposit (CDs), etc. |

You can't get insurance for passed time without it. Your car being in the shop has nothing to do with the fact that it's your responsibility to have insurance on your car. If you didn't get a ticket for no insurance consider yourselves very lucky. Get new insurance ASAP. without driving the car. Being a good person that picks up family from a bar won't get you out of a court claim or lawsuit, should you get into an accident, or worse before you get do. |

It is illegal to backdate insurance, period. Any broker or agent who does that will, at the least, have his licence suspended. |

Sorry you can't. That is against the law & is insurance fraud. Get insurance now and bring in proof of current insurance to the court. No matter how good your excuse NEVER drive without insurance. Just be glad you didn't have an accident & have to pay property damage & bodily injury out of your own pocket. You may get your license suspended & depending on your state, you may have to file an SR22. Your insurance will be high because you were caught driving without insurance. Oh, Progressive surcharges less than most for this offense. You may want to get quotes with them. |

Unfortunately? You absolutely can not back date an insurance application. There are all kind of fraud statutes, civil statutes, and even criminal repurcussions for that. :-(

You can't go back in time. You drove without insurance and got caught. It doesn't matter if you were driving nuns to church. You broke the law. |
