I got in a accident last fall. Caused no damage to the other but I needed new fender. We didnt exchange anything but, I got his first name, and license plate #, that was good enough to process my claim. There is no way it could come back on you, unless he flat out lies and makes a story about you backing into him and taking off from scene"hit and run" . But this would be very unlikely to happen. I would call and say something to insurance, don't process a claim though. Just see what they say, and now you would have documented what happened, just in case he comes back to claim on you. |

I would hang onto the paper with his license plate number on it. Personally I would call the insurance company and explain the situation that way it doesn't come back to bite you. Also, if his car went under your Jeep it might have caused some damage that wasn't visible just standing looking at the car. |

If he seemed like a nice guy and if he's automatically at fault, let it be. If you both agreed it's fine. Maybe for a little insurance if you want get a written agreement signed by the both of you. |

You are not at fault, but report it to your insurance company as a records only claim. Your insurance is not going to go up. Most insurers require you to report ALL claims pursuant to the the terms of the contract(insurance policy). In MA, your rates go up if your SDIP exceeds 15 points. |

You're probably ok. He most likely didn't want to exchange information because he didn't have insurance. There is no reason to tell your insurance company. |

you are an idiot for not exchanging information
it doesnt matter
but its always good to be prepared |

It shouldn't. When I was a youngin', I got in a couple very slight fendor benders and we decided there was no reason to exchange info...never heard from them again.
Besides, if you were rear ended, it would be the fault of the other guy and he would be in no position to come after you... |

it really depends on what happened, i doubt it would come back to haunt you as the damage was to his front end, but i'm pretty sure if you report it your insurance will hike up you payments no matter what :*( |
