If I buy a used car within the state do I need to take it to the DMV when I register it?

for inspection. Because I remember when I bought an out of state car I had to take the car to the dmv so that they could see it in person. I want to know if this same thing applies to cars bought within the state.

im taking another car to it because the one im trying to register is going to be at a shop

for inspection you'd do emissions and that's it, and I'm pretty sure you'd just need the emissions, proof of insurance, and car title to register it at a tag registration office which is somewhere in your county though since I don't know where you live I couldn't tell you, hopefully your county has a website you can look to find all of the information you need to find the office and get it registered.

yes ,all motor vehicles need to go through your local motor vehicle dept for acessing and to make things legal whether they are used automobiles or not . you'll just need to take your automobile to a local garage for state inspection advice make an appointment prior so you'll need not wait .hope this helped :) ~al

All States have their own procedures in place I would give them a call or shoot them an email with this question. U must always register your car no matter where u live but again how 2 procedures will vary.Sine u r taking another car just ask while u r there
