I have liability insurance and my deductible is $250.00
It' not fair that I have to pay this amount. It pricey for me because, I am a teacher's aide and make like $12,000.00 a year. I'm paying for someone else's mistake they just backed into me and didn't leave a note or anything. My friend knows of a shop that could save me money that is why I was asking. I just want to do the right thing.

It is not your liability coverage that will pay for this (there is no deductible for liability) it is your collision coverage that will pay. You may take the car to most any body shop you choose but all you will pay is a total of $250.00. Your insurance will pay the rest. If you don't want to pay the (first)$250.00, you will have to drive your damaged car as it is. |

don't worry, you don't have to pay the deductible, because liability coverage doesn't cover that scenario. You either have to pay the entire cost, or else drive the car as is.
[edit: I agree it's unfair, but it's the other driver who is treating you unfairly.
Your insurance company is treating you fairly. Here's the logic:
You buy a car and take it out on the street (and park in parking lots) with all the idiots who shouldn't be driving -- that's risky.
You can't afford to take the risks yourself, but you can afford to pay somebody else to take the risk for you -- that's the insurance company.
If you are willing to keep a little of the risk (say, $250), then they'll charge less to take the rest of it.
