If your father does not have you listed as one of the drivers, which if you are under 22 would increase his rates, it could prove to be bad for you and your dad if you are involved in an accident.
If your dad has liability coverage and you get in an accident while driving it could negate your fathers policy. He needs to read through his policy and see what is covered and what is not covered.
If you are driving without a license it would negate his policy period if you are involved in an accident.
If you are driving with a learners permit, you must have an adult with you in the car while you are driving. So if you get in an accident alone it would negate the policy.
So, have your dad check the specifics on his policy. |

If you are not a listed driver on his policy, you are not covered - and neither is his car. If you crack it up, the insurance doesn't pay. If you hit someone, dad writes the check for all their damages, and their injuries. Ouch. |

If you drive the car more than he you should be listed as primary driver.
His insurance may cover his car no matter who is driving but that means a car he is primary driver of, or one that is on the policy with someone officially listed as primary driver who really is. |
