I'm looking to buy my first car. The only cars I can afford are at least 100 miles away from where I live. How do I insure the car to bring it home? How can I insure a car I don't yet own? Do insurance companies have solutions for this? It can't be that weird of a problem?
Or should I just drive it home and hope a cop doesn't stop me and nothing bad happens? That sounds like a terrible idea.

NEVER buy a used car sight unseen always test drive any used car for 30 to 40 minutes, then spend a 100 bucks for a wheels off mechanical inspection. This will keep you from bringing home a pile of crap. You can make arrangments ahead of time with your insurance agent, so that the insurance cards can be mailed to the dealer when you need them to drive it home. Best of luck, many questions a week pop up here from people who buy used cars sight unseen and they blow up as soon as the same day. |

The car is issured by the dealer until it is sold. Ask the dealer to extend it a day. |

Put it on a trailer and tow it home.
Either that or buy it and leave it there until its insured and registered. |
