Because your teenage driving is a high risk exposure in your household and they need to be listed as a named driver. If you don't notify your insurance company and your teen causes an accident the insurance company will force rate your teen onto your insurance policy. Which will double maybe even triple your insurance premium! Also, some discounts that insurance companies offer aren't available once a teen has an accident. You need to add them on once they are licensed so you can take advantage of all the best discounts before something goes wrong |

Because if you don't, and your teenager is a regular driver and wrecks your car, you are not covered. If the wreck injures or kills someone, you can be sued for thousands or millions of dollars, and your insurance company can deny you any help. |

You will probably find that everyone is covered over the age of 25. As a teenager the insurance company needs to know so that you premiums/access is adjusted accordingly. |
