Hi, I am a Canadian student who still don't have his driver's license yet, I was wondering if I go to school in the US for 3-4 years, would I be eligible to apply in the state? I am thinking New York, California, or Mass.

Yes. In California, when you attend college here you are assumed, by action of law, to have established residency here, and you are required to obtain a California Driver License to drive here. Don't know how New York or Massachusetts applies the law.
Please note: For college purposes California does not consider you a resident until you have lived here for 1 year and 1 day. Confusing, isn't it? That is so for your first year they can charge you out-of state tuition rates which is roughly 2 1/2 times higher than a resident (or illegal alien) pays. |
