Ok I'm 16 and I got a speeding ticket on February, the cop wrote a court date on the ticket and when I went to cour to pay for the ticket they said they had no record of me on the recorders court so they sent me to the juvenille court, i got there and i asked them and they also told me that they never received no ticket or nothing from me so they had no records of me getting a ticket. what do you think might have happened? it's been more than 2 months after i received the ticket and they have no records or nothing yet. what do you think? thanks for your opinion.

yeah and the weird thing is that its been more than 2 months already. i really appreciate your help guys and i really hope that there was a mistake and they never get the ticket because i'm not one of those teenager who dedicates themselves to race i don;t really like that because i love myself to much to risk like that. i use my car just to go to school and go to work to pay for the car and sometimes to go to the movies.

This has actually happened to me, and a friend of mine. I paid the ticket, and never heard from them again, my friend went to court (same city). Turns out that the policeman didn't turn the ticket in, and even though my friend was told to appear in court at X time and date (on ticket), there was no ticket on file.

maybe the cop liked you enough to not report it (if that's how it works-I think they have to report it or file it for someone else to take care of)
He/she figured you will be more speed concious after getting your first ticket and you don't need to suffer the consequences because maybe you would have learned your lesson if that was their hunch. |

the officer never turned the ticket in to the courts. So you lucked out. Unfortunately this has never happened to me. Be happy that it doesn't put a point on your record or insurance. But don't worry this will probably not come back to haunt you. |

Either the officer did not file the ticket, or there was a clerical error and the ticket was never correctly entered into the court docket.
It seems to me that you got lucky this time. The odds of this happening are not in your favor. Slow down and drive more carefully in the future. |
