in june last year i ran into the back of somebody and managed to break my fingers and completly f**k up the brand new yaris in front. Come round to insure my car now and getting ridiculous quotes like £6k to insure a corsa tpft :O. Just wondering if i have to declare this on my car insurance as they do not except moped no claims so do i have to declare my accident. surely its unfair if they dont reward good drivers. i am a good driver btw just had slicks on my bike and it decided to rain rain + slicks + emergancy stop = accident waiting to happen :D

:( looks like i going to have to pay the high premiums. And the tyres that i bought were avon viper styrkes which advertised on the website said they were all weather tyres but they hardly had any tread at all. Even the copper said that they didnt look like wet weather tyres. After the accident i moved onto michelin run scoot 207 tyres which were great as the remaining 11 months i had no accidents at all.

unfortunately the insurers will ask you "have you or any driver on the policy been involved in ANY accidents whether to blame or not " so yes you will have to delcare this |

You are a good driver, but you had illegal tyres?
How does that work out then?
The Avon Viper Stryke AM63 is a high quality, all weather scooter tyre (I have Avon Cobras on my bike and never had any problems).
If you crashed in the wet, with a decent set of tyres like those, you were either going too fast, or just not paying enough attention to the traffic.
That confirms that you are actually not a good driver - you just think you are. Big difference... |

In the US at least, a moped isn't licensed, so I wouldn't think you'd need to mention this. I just hope you had specific insurance on the moped, though, since your home insurance does NOT cover it.
I'm often amazed at the premiums you in the UK mention, even with the exchange rate; they're pretty consistently much higher than ours. |
