If i let someone drive my car with suspended license, can my insurance company refuse to pay in event of acc.?

thank's for all the responses, i was fairly certain it would be a mistake. i was asking for a friend to let her know that she shouldn't do something that could cause her to get into trouble. thank's for helping convince her.

Yep.

Basically, if you give someone permission to drive your car, they would be covered on your insurance for that amount of time, however, since they have a suspended license, the company can just as easily refuse to pay the claim.

You can say you didn't know they had a suspended license, but usually, it won't make a difference.

Good Luck!

Yes.
The insurance would tell you that a reasonable person would have know if a Friend asked to drive your car that you would have made sure they were legally able to drive.
Some insurances would not cover even if that person was legally able to drive. Check with your insurance.

Read the fine print of your policy packet when your policy was issued. I am insured through Drive (Progressive) and they allow Non Valid DL.

1st off why would you let someone with no licesnce drive your car?? In the state of Florida youd be liable because that party isint listed as a driver on your policy

Yes because the driver with the suspended license shouldn't have been driving the car in the first place.

Yes, because you knowingly allowed this event to happen.

in addition to the above you personally may be held liable for anything that may happen. Don't allow it!

Your premium will likely increase but they will not refuse to pay. Your insurance company will ask you if you gave the other driver permission to drive your car and make sure that it wasn't stolen. They will not ask if you checked if his/her license was valid or not.

Sure can, thats why thats a big NO NO. But good luck though!

Maybe, depending on your state laws and the wording on your policy. But if you DO let them drive, and something happens, you'll have your policy cancelled for high-risk practices. Also, your car can be impounded by the authorities. Any accidents that person has will follow YOU for three to seven years.

It would be a pretty dumb thing to do.
