car insurance has absolutely nothing to do with your credit when a insurance company checks your credit it is only to qualify you for certain price benefits nothing else so there is no connection between your credit and your insurance |

Unless you are living at his address, or you drive his car a lot, there is no reason to be added as a secondary driver on his policy. If you mean become the main insured on his car, NO NO NO. It will affect more than your credit if you do.

If he gets D.U.I or so forth it will be on ur credit reports if he doesnt pay his car bill or insurance then that will affect you too. |

if he doesn't pay the insurance bill your name is there too and you are liable. Accidents don't affect credit. |

Unless you are on the car note, there shouldn't be any reason why you should put your name on his insurance. If you feel that you have to or want to put your name on his car insurance, there is only two ways you can be effected.
1.) A simple credit pull when you are added to the policy
2.) If and only if, he is sued and the insurance company has to represent him in court due to an accident, at that point you will only be named in the suit. Like I said only if he is ever sued and the insurance agency has to defend him.
If you gets a DUI or doesn't pay his car note, it will NOT effect you, they have nothing to do with you or your credit. The DUI will effect the insurance rate but it will not show up on yours or his credit report. A car note not being paid has nothing to do with insurance and the insurance company will never be notified if he is late on a car payment. |
