I don't think you'll save that much money if you are the secondary driver. You'll still get gouged because of your driving record.

Yes, she can be the primary driver. Just make sure that her use of the vehicle is over 50%, that's all.

I would put the car registration in her name, just say it was a gift or that she paid you 50$ for it. they dont need to know about you.
then go put car insurance in her name at her company by herself, not have you around. let her do it.
let her call around for insurance quotes or she could put both cars in her name. I have 2 in my name and pay insurance under same policy as my first.(make 1 payment for both cars). both registrations in my name.

No, this is against the law and if they find out you are doing this they may try to take you to court to get the rest of their money. Also if you do succeed in getting the insurance in your wifes name and you have a wreck or get a ticket in the car then the insurance company has a right to procecute you for the damages to pay for the car and her insurance will go up quite a bit too. Be a man and pay them what they want. You will get over it in a couple of years. If you can keep your record clean.

Sure you can, providing you give her the car and don't drive. The only way the premium will decrease is if you are listed as an excluded driver.

My car is in my dad's name because I was between jobs when I bought it. I'm listed as the primary driver on it. But in this case, our driving records are both pretty clean, so I don't think it would impact either way.

She will probably be asked to sign an affidavit stating that you will not be driving the car. If you do drive it and get into an accident the insurance company will not cover the damages. Nor will they cover the damages if in the accident you hit another persons car. This could leave you open for a law suit. You'd be better off in the long run just keeping your current policy and improving your driving record. The longer you go without an accident, the better your record will become and your premiums will begin to go down as well.
